Anyone with information about the use of the chemo drug Topecan to treat advanced small cell lung cancer? - small cell lung cancer and leg pain

My sister is very advanced small cell lung cancer. She has just started chemotherapy durrg called Topeca. It is as a second line of chemotherapy drugs used. Durg first chemotherapy was used cisplatin and etoposide and carboplatin and etoposide. The cancer still diagnosed by the lungs, the liver has spread to the bone and then disappeared only by radiation for brain tumors were in several of November. What side effects can I expect? Are there any other options except for clinical studies? South-west, I was told that I had told my brother that "kill all the radiation on brain tumors. But it's really found a toll on your strength, balance, etc. Thanks for any information.

The advanced lung cancer is a miserable disease. Your sister is in a fight for his life. Sometimes a person with small cell lung cancer is a long time can live with the treatment, but treatment is often in vain. We hope and pray that someday a cure for patients with this type and all cancers are. In the meantime, let God in your life and follows him in his decisions, such as the question of what to do after the birth.

Sorry, but your sister needs to talk to their doctor about what can realistically chemotherapy and what not to do in order to have realistic expectations about the treatment of metastatic small cell. It could be more benefits for palliative care and could not enjoy his last days without additional treatment, but the concern for their family and friends. sorry
